Belfast Churches join the Rome Express

The following leaflet, issued by the modern evangelicals of Belfast, tells its own story.
Dr. Ian Paisley

Here we have men professing to believe in the infallibility of God's Word; here we have men who have signed the Confession of Faith and have pledged their loyalty on oath to the Gospel of the great Protestant Reformation; and they are now saying that it is the leading of the Holy Spirit that is causing them to enter into dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church.

The mass is either right or wrong. We know that it is wrong and that it is a blasphemy against the finished work of Christ. There is no place for dialogue with Rome. There is every place for disputation, dispute, argument and controversy, but no place for two people, recognising as they do now on the dialogue platform, the truthfulness, the honesty, the integrity and the Christian faith of each other, to exchange points in a so-called ecumenical dialogue.

When Satan rebelled, God did not call him to the dialogue table: He cast him out of Heaven. The Bible says that we are to resist all the children of the Devil who preach the doctrines of the Devil; it does not say that we are to recognise them or to have dialogue with them. The Scripture injunction is: "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." (Eph. 5:11) These evangelicals are not reproving but actually approving the Roman Catholics with whom they are entering into dialogue, and they are thus approving the doctrines of the Church of Rome.
